Masterclass adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to understand and examine policy and governance in India and build methodological capacity to analyze and contribute to these domains. They draw from disciplines such as Anthropology, Economics, History, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, and Statistics which are foundational to the understanding of Public Policy and Governance domains. These are 1.5 hour interactive sessions conducted by an expert in the relevant field in classrooms that aim at preparing students with the knowledge, skills and temperament to subsequently engage with policy issues of their interest.
Electives are taken up by students based on their choice from a list offered by the school. These courses will allow students to extend their understanding of the foundational disciplines, deepen their methodological training as well as develop domain expertise in particular fields.
In addition to the rigorous theoretical exposure, the BootCamp experience also includes academic sessions aimed at application-based skill-building. These workshops are designed in a way such that the students can develop skill sets relevant to the affairs of the day which will give them a head start to pursue a career of their choice in the public policy domain.
The realm of Public Policy is filled with experts in various dimensions. Knowledge transfer from these expanding group of intellectuals can play a key role in shaping up our lenses through which we see the world. Taking these thoughts along, the BootCamp also features panel discussions joined by external experts and moderated by the Rishihood team.
